The Board of Commissioners of Lafourche Ambulance District #1 (LAD#1) met in regular
session on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. at its Administration Office located at
17078 West Main Street, Cut Off, LA 70345.
President Dean Savoie called the meeting to order and led the Pledge of Allegiance.
Roll was called: Board members in attendance: Dean Savoie, Reggie Pitre, Kip Plaisance
Brian Marts and Wayne Doucet. Board members absent: N J Lefort and Aaron Arabie.
Also present were: Administrator Michelle Pierce, Operations Manager Brady Daigle,
Administrative Assistant Debra Guidry, Data Manager Lisa Tegart and along with a host of
field employees.
Comments from the Public: Patrick Blanchard, LAD #1 EMT-Basic, addressed the Board
expressing his desire to attend paramedic school in the Spring 2023 and would like to apply
for LAD scholarship funding. The board will address his request at the Regular Monthly
Meeting in November 2022.
Meeting Minutes – Motion by Kip Plaisance, second by Reggie Pitre to accept the
September 20, 2022 LAD #1 regular board meeting minutes as written. Unanimously
approved.
President’s Report – Dean Savoie
A. Recommendation from Building and Grounds Committee – Committee recommends
to purchase an administrative vehicle through state bid. Motion by Reggie Pitre,
second by Kip Plaisance. Voting for: Dean Savoie, Reggie Pitre, Kip Plaisance and
Brian Marts. Abstained: Wayne Doucet due to personal reasons. Absent: N J Lefort
and Aaron Arabie.
B. Recommendation from Finance Committee –
a. Committee recommends to increase wages 8% effective 1-1-2023. Motion by
Reggie Pitre, second by Brian Marts, unanimously approved.
b. Committee recommends to purchase Aladtec Scheduling and Timekeeping
Software at a cost of $5,400. Motion by Kip Plaisance, second by Reggie Pitre,
unanimously approved.
C. Recognition for 30 years of service – Harris Guidry for 30 years of service and Robin
Pitre for 30 years of service with LAD #1. Both were presented a plaque recognizing
their service.
Administration & Financial Report – Administrator Michelle Pierce presented the
September 2022 finance report on collections, run charges, and millage collections.

Operations Report – Operations Manager Brady Daigle reported 2 employees are currently
out on workers comp. He reported on call statistics, call volume, response times, and medic
alert devices. Status of Hurricane Ida Building Repairs: Larose Station and Golden Meadow
Station repairs are complete. Cut Off Station windows and doors still need to be replaced.
Administration Office still waiting for structural repairs on the front and top of the building
and a few exterior lights need to be installed.
Next Meeting Date: The next meeting of LAD #1 Board of Commissioners will be November
15, 2022, at 4 pm.
Guest Comments: EMT-Basic Jonathan Bridier along with a host of fellow employees
thanked the Board for the wage increase. He also thanked Administrator Michelle Pierce for
the effort to bring the employees together and for the positive influence and effect on all.
Member Comments: Board Member Reggie Pitre addressed the employees present by
informing them that he always praises them, the tremendous job they do and positive effect
they have on our community.
Being no further business to come before the board, motion to adjourn by Reggie Pitre,
second by Wayne Doucet. Unanimously approved. The meeting adjourned at 4:25 p.m.
