The Board of Commissioners of Lafourche Ambulance District #1 (LAD#1) met in regular
session on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at 4:00 p.m. at its Administration Office located at 17078
West Main Street, Cut Off, LA 70345.
President Dean Savoie called the meeting to order and led the Pledge of Allegiance.
Roll was called: Board members in attendance: Dean Savoie, Kip Plaisance, N J Lefort,
Brian Marts and Aaron Arabie. Board members absent: Reggie Pitre and Wayne Doucet.
Also present were: Administrator Michelle Pierce, Operations Manager Brady Daigle,
Administrative Assistant Debra Guidry, and Data Manager Lisa Tegart.
Meeting Minutes – Motion by N J Lefort to approve the April 20, 2023 LAD #1 regular board
meeting minutes as written, second by Kip Plaisance. Unanimously approved.
President’s Report – Dean Savoie
A. Approval of Resolution #2305 for Compliance Questionnaire, Audit Engagement &
State Agreed Upon Procedures – Motion by Kip Plaisance, second by N J Lefort to
approve Compliance Questionnaire, Audit Engagement & State Agreed Upon
Procedures as presented by Resolution #2305. Unanimously approved.
B. Health Insurance Renewal 7-1-2023 – Administrator Michelle Pierce presented health
insurance renewal rates effective 7-1-2023 which reflect a 6.3% increase. Motion by
Kip Plaisance second by Aaron Arabie to approve the health insurance rates effective
July 1, 2023 as presented. Unanimously approved.
C. Consider Changing Start Time of Monthly Board Meetings – Commissioner N J Lefort
stated that his current work schedule prevents him from attending more meetings
and asked for discussion to consider changing start time of monthly board meetings.
After discussion a motion by N J Lefort second by Aaron Arabie to change start time
of monthly board meetings to begin at 6:15 p.m. Unanimously approved.
Administration & Financial Report –
Operations Report – Operations Manager Brady Daigle reported on call statistics, call
volume, response times, medic alert devices, and unit maintenance. Replacement windows
for Cut Off Station have been ordered with LAS Enterprises and repairs to Administrative
Office remain at 85% complete. One of our ambulance units has a blown engine; we are
unable to locate the parts needed for the repairs.
Mr. Brian Marts enters the meeting at 4:14 p.m.
Research on the feasibility of remounting our ambulance units’ verses purchasing new units
has begun. He also reported that solutions for dispatching services continues.

Administration Report - Administrator Michelle Pierce presented the April 2023 finance
report on collections, run charges, fund balances, and millage collections.
Next Meeting Date: The next meeting of LAD #1 Board of Commissioners is scheduled for
June 20, 2023, at 6:15 pm. Building and Grounds Committee Meeting also on June 20, 2023
at 5:45 p.m. prior to board meeting

Being no further business to come before the board, motion to adjourn by N J Lefort, second
by Kip Plaisance. Unanimously approved. The meeting adjourned at 4:45 p.m.
